Thank you for including your reading list. You mentioned the red mist, which often forms part of a conversation between my hubs and I. He found a book by Lisa Bevere very helpful. I've not read it...pity parties are more my problem than the red mist...Her book is called 'Be Angry But Don't Blow It! Maintaining Your Passion Without Losing Your Cool'.
Hi Louise, Thanks for taking the time to read. Thanks also for the suggestion; I've already ordered the book for my kindle, isn't the internet just grand?! Other people on Amazon spoke really highly of it too so we'll see. She's written a load of books actually, some of which might be helpful for the pity parties you mention. I too am prone to this I'm sorry to say. Was also pleased to note you've posted on your blog. Pride is another one of those 'flaws' I'm trying to work on. Tonight your prayer shall be mine too. Thank you
Thank you for that Louise. I will be sure to take a look. Made me smile that you're coming into Spring while we are facing Autumn. You are a long, long way from here! God bless, Jayne
I wondered if you would give your permission for a Church of Scotland parish church to replicate your Coronavirus Beatitudes in the May edition of our monthly congregational magazine, which will of necessity be only available in digital form. We would, of course, acknowledge the source. Many thanks in advance. Hazel
Dear Jayne, I edit a monthly parish magazine (currently an on-line edition only) for St Helen's church, Ashby de la Zouch. I would like to ask permission to include your Beatitudes poem please in the May edition which I'm currently compiling. If you want to check us out, the link is https://www.sthelensashby.net/Groups/339405/Parish_Magazine.aspx Many thanks Jill Chapman
It’s fine to use my text (with credit) but if you want to use the cartoon version you’ll need to contact Dave Walker from Cartoon Church, as his work is available on license to churches. Thanks.
Jayne - May I just say how very absorbing (& wise) I found your Radio 4 'Thought for the Day' today (Friday 8th December) on the theme of "sorry" - as you said, a word used all too frequently without any meaning or thought behind it; how well, too, you high-lighted the enormity and value of the word when used properly, with no excuses, as an indicator that things are about to change... A timely reminder indeed - thank you.
